Terms & Conditions.

The agreement between you and RevisionBot. Written in plain English where we could manage it.

01Introduction

Welcome. These terms cover your use of RevisionBot — our website at revisionbot.co.uk, the WhatsApp messages we send, and the calendar entries we create on your behalf. By signing in, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't sign in.

We've kept the language plain. Where we say "you", we mean the person signing in. Where we say "we", "us" or "RevisionBot", we mean the small team building this software in the United Kingdom.

In short

Use it for the thing it's for — revising for your own exams. Be honest about who you are. Treat Bit kindly.

02Using RevisionBot

RevisionBot is a planning tool. It is not a tutor, an exam board, or a substitute for sleep. The schedules we generate are best-effort suggestions based on the information you give us. You remain responsible for what you study, when you study, and how you sit your exams.

You agree to use the service in a way that is:

  • Honest. Accurate information in, useful schedule out.
  • Personal.Don't share your account or let someone else's exams ride on it.
  • Lawful. No attempting to break, scrape, or otherwise misuse the service.

03Accounts & beta access

You sign in with Google. We use that to identify you, to store your plan, and to put calendar events on your calendar with your permission. We don't store your Google password — we never see it.

During the beta, RevisionBot is available to people on an allowlist. We may add, remove or pause accounts at our discretion while we're stabilising the service. We'll always tell you if we do.

04WhatsApp & messaging

By verifying your WhatsApp number, you consent to receive scheduled messages from RevisionBot. These include a morning summary, a pre-session reminder (about ten minutes before each session) and a post-session check-in.

You can stop messages at any time by replying stopon WhatsApp, by pausing your plan from the dashboard, or by signing out. WhatsApp's own terms also apply to your use of WhatsApp.

Standard messaging rates do not apply — WhatsApp messages are delivered over data — but your mobile data plan may.

05Calendar & data sync

If you choose to sync with Google Calendar, we will create one event per revision session on the calendar you nominate. We use the minimum permission scope necessary (calendar.events). We do not read your other events, contacts, or email.

If you deactivate a plan, we remove the events we created. If you revoke our calendar permission, future syncs will fail — we'll show you a friendly reconnect prompt.

06Content & intellectual property

The look and feel of RevisionBot — including the wordmark, the mascot, and the brand system — belongs to us. The schedules generated for you are yours to keep, use, print, and ignore. The topic names suggested in each session are generic GCSE topics and not endorsed by any exam board.

07Users under 16

RevisionBot is designed for GCSE students, many of whom are 14 or 15. If you are under 16, please make sure a parent or guardian has agreed to you using this service. We may ask for confirmation.

For parents

You can write to us at any time to ask what information we hold about your child, to change it, or to delete the account altogether. See the Privacy Policy for the full process.

08Limits of liability

We will do our best to keep the service running, the messages on time and the schedules sensible. But we are a small team and software is software. RevisionBot is provided "as is" — we don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that you will get any particular grade.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. None of this affects your statutory rights.

09Changes to this agreement

If we change these terms in a material way, we'll let you know — by email, in the app, or on the next WhatsApp summary. Small clarifications and typo fixes won't trigger a notification, but the "last updated" date at the top of the page always will.

10How to contact us

The quickest way is by email: hello@revisionbot.co.uk. We also have a contact formif that's easier.

For anything legal — including data subject requests under UK GDPR — the same email reaches us.
